The MCCA's contract with the MassMutual for naming rights of the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA has expired and, as such, the MCCA is seeking an organization to enter into a contract for the future naming rights of the Springfield facility for a 10-year term.

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (hereinafter the “Authority”) is soliciting for construction services for the BCEC, Hynes, BCG WiFi and IT Upgrades – R32ABC (the “Project”), upgrades to the WiFi and security systems, with an estimated cost of $18,501,686.00, located at 415 Summer St, 900 Boylston Street, and 0 Charles St, Boston, MA, in conjunction with the designer STV Inc., and the OPM Arcadis US.

The Authority will use the RFQ/RFP process and firms interested in providing public for the Project are invited to submit a Statement of Qualifications (“SOQ”) to the Authority. The Authority will receive SOQs electronically using BidDocsOnline until 12:00 PM (Noon) local time on June 5, 2025.

Request for Qualifications documents will be available on or after Wednesday May 14, 2025, from the Authority website rfp.massconvention.com, which will direct potential bidders to BidDocsOnline. Each interested party may obtain the documents at such address, together with any addenda or amendments which the Authority may issue.

Questions or requests for information, clarification or interpretation of the Request for Qualifications documents must be submitted electronically on BidDocsOnline and must be received no later than 5:00 PM, May 29, 2025.

Each general bid on this contract must be accompanied by a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) showing that the bidder has the classification and capacity rating to perform the work required. In order to be eligible to bid on this contract, a general bidder must be certified for the estimated project cost of $18,501,686.00 and for the following category of work:

MMC Dwight St. Overhead Door Trench Drain Repair (T19)
The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (the "Authority") will receive sealed general bids for the MASS MUTUAL CENTER MMC Dwight St. Overhead Door Trench Drain Repair (T19) at the Administrative Offices of the Authority at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02210, until 12:00 p.m. local time on May 21, 2025 immediately after which, in a designated room, the general bids will be opened and read publicly.
This project in Springfield, Massachusetts consists of the installation of a new trench drain at the MassMutual Center (MMC), which shall include, but not be limited to, demolition of existing trench drain and concrete slab; installation of new trench drain; and repair and refinishing of adjacent slab area to match existing. ADD ALTERNATE #1 includes replacement of sloped ramp slab. All as more fully set forth in the Drawings and Notes.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00am on May 14, 2025, starting at the Dwight St. Overhead door at the rear the MMC located at 1277 Main Street Springfield, Massachusetts. The pre-bid conference will be followed by a walk-through of the site.

Boston Common Garage ATS Switch Replacement

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (the “Authority”) requests invitations for bid
for purchase and install of Schneider Electric 7000 Series Transfer Switch for the Boston
Common Garage, to replace existing, damaged, Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), inclusive of
all labor and materials to provide a functional/operational ATS.

Bids must be received at the Executive Office of the Authority, Attn: Brendan Flynn, Director of
Purchasing, 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02210, not later than 12:00 p.m. local
time on May 23rd, 2025. Bid requirements and content are set forth in the Invitation for Bid, and
in conjunction with MGL Ch. 30B regulations.

A Pre-Bid Walkthrough will be held at 10:00AM, May 14, 2025. Interested bidders will meet at
the parking ticket office of Boston Common Garage (middle level), 0 Charles Street, Boston,
MA.

Questions or requests for information, clarification or interpretation of the bidding documents
must be submitted in writing, in accordance with the Invitation for Bid and must be received no

Boston Common Ground Garage Storm Drain Pump R20

The project will remove and replace in kind 19 ejector pumps and 10 pump controllers at the Boston Common Garage. The ejector pumps include 8 Storm ejectors, 4 sanitary sewer ejector, 1 under slab drain ejector and 6 garage ejector pumps.  The project will also provide 2 additional ejector pumps for attic stock.

Boston Common Ground Garage Sprinkler System Upgrade R14

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (the "Authority") will receive sealed general bids for Sprinkler System Upgrade R14 at the Administrative Offices of the Authority at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02210, until 12:00 p.m. local time on May 7, 2025, immediately after which, in a designated room, the general bids will be opened and read publicly.

 

The project will remove and replace deteriorated dry sprinkler pipes, connections, and sprinkler heads at the Boston Common Garage. The project will provide a comprehensive sprinkler test to determine if additional dry sprinkler system components are to be replaced. These items will be replaced at a unit price. The project will remove and replace the existing dry sprinkler system air compressors.

Sealed Filed Sub-Bids for the same project for the sub-trades listed below will be received at the same office until 12:00 p.m. local time on March 12, 2025, immediately after which, in a designated room, the filed sub-bids will be opened and read publicly.   

 

The project consists of demolition and replacement of the outdoor condenser and the indoor evaporator serving the kitchen at the BCEC facility at Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC), which shall include, but not be limited to, partial demolition of existing systems; installation of new components; and repair and refinishing of all disturbed areas to match existing. 

 

A Pre-Bid conference will be held at 11:00am on February 26, 2025, starting at the North Plaza in front of the BCEC located at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The pre-bid conference will be followed by a walk-through of the site.
