The MCCA's purchasing process is to procure goods and services using sound business practices through its centralized purchasing department by obtaining quotations or purchasing via the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Statewide Contracts. As business needs increase in size or complexity, goods and services and capital projects are publicly bid to ensure a fair and competitive process.

The Authority is committed to and encourages the participation of Minority Owned and Women Owned Businesses. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Supplier Diversity Office certifies minority and women businesses. S41-BCEC CP Trailers

 

 

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (the "Authority") will receive sealed general bids for the BOSTON CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTER S41-BCEC Capital Project Trailers at the Administrative Offices of the Authority at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02210, until 12:00 p.m. local time on January 24, 2025 immediately after which, in a designated room, the general bids will be opened and read publicly.

 

Sealed filed sub-bids for the same project for the sub-trades listed below will be received at the same office until 12:00 p.m. local time on January 17, 2025, immediately after which, in a designated room, the filed sub-bids will be opened and read publicly.

 

The project entails the renovation and refresh of existing office space for the Authority. The existing space is located at the MCCA Capital Projects office trailers. The project consists of new finishes for approximately 8,000 SF, reconfiguration and addition of office partitions, an enlarged office kitchenette and dining area, and a new family restroom.

 

A pre-bid conference will be held on January 03, 2025, starting at the trailer at 348 D Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The pre-bid conference will be followed by a walk-through of the site.

 

Questions or requests for information, clarification or interpretation of the bidding documents must be submitted to bflynn@massconvention.com in writing in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.

 

Each general bid on this contract must be accompanied by a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) showing that the bidder has the classification and capacity rating to perform the work required. In order to be eligible to bid on this contract, a general bidder must be certified for the estimated project cost of $400,000 and for the following category of work:

Each general bid must also be accompanied by a Contractor Qualification Update Statement. The Authority will furnish copies of the Contractor Qualification Update Statement form to any bidder on request. Any general bid submitted without the appropriate Certificate of Eligibility and Contractor Qualification Update Statement shall be invalid.

Provision of Insurance Brokerage Services
 The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority is issuing this Request for Proposals to solicit responses from qualified commercial lines insurance Brokers commencing in or around April 1, 2025. The Authority is seeking a broker that has the appropriate insurance markets to insure its business and operational risks, has significant leverage with these markets to be competitive with the coverage and pricing in the Authority's current insurance program and has the necessary internal resources and experience in serving clients comparable in size and needs to the Authority.
