T06 MCEC Exit Signs

This project includes providing all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the removal and replacement of 194 Exit Signs located on all levels of the MCEC. Provide 16 exit signs for attic stock for the MCCA, all as more fully set forth in the Drawings and Notes.

A prebid conference will be held at 10:00am on June 10, 2026, starting at the North Plaza in front of the Thomas Michael Menino Convention & Exhibition Center (MCEC) located at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The pre-bid conference will be followed by a walkthrough of the site.

Questions or requests for information, clarification or interpretation of the bidding documents must be submitted to procurement@massconvention.com in writing in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 17, 2026.

Each general bid on this contract must be accompanied by a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) showing that the bidder has the classification and capacity rating to perform the work required. MCEC UPS Upgrade (T12)

This project in Boston, Massachusetts comprises the replacement and upgrade of an uninterruptable power system (UPS) system and other work indicated in the Contract Documents.

MCEC Board Room AV Upgrades - S38

The Thomas M. Menino (MCEC) S38 Boardroom Upgrades project includes audio and video upgrades for MCEC Boardroom 201. The scope of work includes the removal of an existing display and AV equipment and their replacement with new and improved equipment: one (1) new main display and two (2) secondary wall-mounted displays, new AV equipment such as speakers, microphones, touch controls, control panel removal, cameras, etc. The scope of work also includes the selective demolition and removal of selected portions of AV, electrical and communications equipment and systems; dispose and cart away; protect existing
structure/element to remain; selective removal of wall panel finishes and their storage and protection for reinstallation; the selective demolition of gypsum wallboard (GWB) surfaces is to accommodate the new electrical and data infrastructure required for the new equipment; wall reinforcement, repair, replacement, patching, priming and painting, and reinstallation of the removed wall panels to restore the affected surfaces to match the existing ones, prior to receiving the new displays and AV equipment. All as more fully set forth in the Bid Documents. Due to ongoing events the Contractor would only have full access (24 hours if needed) to the Board Room from September 3 through September 11, 2026 for any work within the room. For work outside the room the Contractor will be able to work as needed prior to September 3, with prior coordination and approval from the Authority.

S18 MassMutual Arena and Concourse PA Speaker System Upgrades 

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (the "Authority") will receive sealed general bids for the MASS MUTUAL CENTER MMC - S18 Arena PA System at the Administrative Offices of the Authority at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02210, until 12:00 p.m. local time on June 24, 2026, immediately after which, in a designated room, the general bids will be opened and read publicly.

The work of this project in Springfield, Massachusetts includes, but is not necessarily limited to, providing sound system upgrades for the MMC Arena and a new audio system (loudspeakers) to the concourse areas. Additional work will include supporting electrical, patching and repair work to be described in the contract documents. The arena upgrades will be designed within the greater context of potential future renovations to other areas of the Mass Mutual Center and the intended use of the Arena, along with a review of the acoustics of the space. Scope will include new loudspeakers arrays, subwoofers, wiring, amplifiers, and sound engines. The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, and testing required for the work to be shown in the Drawings and Specifications.

A pre bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 3, 2026, starting at the MMC located at 1277 Main Street Springfield, Massachusetts. Enter the building at the Box Office entrance on Bruce Landon Way. The pre-bid conference will be followed by a walk-through of the site.

Each general bid on this contract must be accompanied by a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) showing that the bidder has the classification and capacity rating to perform the work required. In order to be eligible to bid on this contract, a general bidder must be certified for the estimated project cost of $2,050,000 and for the following category of work:

 Each general bid must also be accompanied by a Contractor Qualification Update Statement. Update statement forms for Prime and Sub-bidders can be found on-line at the State’s website: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/update-statement-for-public-bidding Any general bid submitted without the appropriate Certificate of Eligibility and Contractor Qualification Update Statement shall be invalid. In order to be eligible to bid on this contract, all sub bidders must be certified for the estimated filed sub bid costs below.

Contract documents for bidders will be available on or after May 27, 2026 via the Authority’s website rfp.massconvention.com and each bidder may obtain the documents at such address, together with any addenda or amendments which the Authority may issue.  
 

Bidding procedures and award of the contract will be in accordance with the provisions of Sections 44A through 44J, inclusive, of Chapter 149 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Each bid shall be submitted and will be considered in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and other Contract Documents and shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of 5% of the value of the bid.

The Authority reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all bids if it be in the public interest to do so.  The Authority reserves the right to cancel this procurement at any time without liability to any bidder or other party.

The successful general bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and also a labor and materials or payment bond as set forth in the bid form.   Attention is called to the minimum rates of wages to be paid on the work as determined under the provisions of Chapter 149, Massachusetts General Laws, Sections 26 to 27D, inclusive, as amended, and as set forth in the Contract Documents, which the contractor will be required to pay.

Public Relations and Strategic Communications Services

 The MCCA (the Authority) requests proposals from firms interested in providing Public Relations and Strategic Communications Consultation for the MCCA executive team.

Consultants are expected to demonstrate proven expertise in public & governmental relations and strategic communications services. Consultants are also expected to demonstrate expert knowledge of the global and national convention meetings and events industry.

MCEC North Ramp Drain and Expansion Joint Repair T21

This project includes providing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to provide specific repairs of drains at North Ramp of the MCEC. The contractor will perform demolition to remove concrete traffic slabs, subsurface drains, and expansion joints. Tasks include conducting ground-penetrating radar scans to locate conduits and instrument-level surveys to document elevations. Work focuses on installing cast-in-place concrete, aprons, subsurface drain assemblies, and handhole frames. The scope includes applying fluid-applied waterproofing systems, expansion joints, and drainage composites. The project requires applying sealers to
concrete surfaces and performing flood tests to verify waterproofing, all as more fully set forth in the Drawings and Notes. The GC shall provide a traffic plan and GC supplied signage. 

A prebid conference will be held at 10:00am on May 27, 2026, starting at the North Lobby of the Thomas Michael Menino Convention & Exhibition Center (MCEC) located at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The prebid conference will be followed by a walkthrough of the site.
